The ProFuturo Race, the educational innovation project driven by Fundación Telefónica and Fundación La Caixa, celebrated its tenth anniversary yesterday with a record number of participants on the streets of Madrid.
The ProFuturo Race was created in 2016 with a clear goal: running for education.
The official race shirts for both distances have now been revealed: the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon (21.097 km on an RFEA-certified course) and the ProFuturo race (5 km), with registration still open.
ProFuturo is the international program of educational innovation with technology for social transformation, driven by Fundación Telefónica and Fundación “la Caixa”. Since 2016 it has promoted high-quality digital education in vulnerable environments, improving the opportunities of thousands of boys, girls, and teachers around the world, with solid evidence that demonstrates its real impact.
ProFuturo is an example of how European philanthropic cooperation, working together with various multilateral organizations and partners, can drive global solutions that, thanks to cutting-edge technologies and educational innovation, reduce gaps and transform communities.
ProFuturo’s work is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, contributing directly to SDGs 1, 4, 10, 16 and 17, and its theory of change is in line with the Common Framework for Digital Transformation developed by UNESCO’s DTC (Digital Transformation Collaborative).
