Regulations

Art. 1.- PRESENTATION AND SCHEDULE

The Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, Atresmedia and Sport Life Ibérica, together with the collaboration of the Hon. Madrid City Council, organize the 10th edition of the 5k Race - ProFuturo, to be held next March 22, 2026 at 8:45 a.m., with start and finish on Paseo de Recoletos, next to Plaza de Colón.

Note: The schedule and the start/finish location may undergo changes due to organizational requirements or the authorities that authorize the event.

Art. 2.- COURSE

The course measures approximately 5 km.

Art. 3.- PARTICIPATION

All individuals born in 2012 or earlier may take part, whether licensed or not, and with no distinction of sex or nationality. To participate, they must have correctly completed their registration according to the rules set out in this regulation.

Art. 4.- CUT-OFF TIME

The maximum time to complete the race is 60 minutes from the official start.

Art. 5.- REGISTRATION

Registrations can be made exclusively through the official website www.carrerafundacionprofuturo.com according to the following deadlines and prices up to a maximum of 3,000 runners:

  • From opening of registration to November 30, 2025: €12
  • From December 1, 2025 to January 30, 2026: €15
  • From February 1, 2026 to March 8: €18
  • In-person registration at the Runner’s Expo: €25

Registration includes payment platform management fees.

Conditions of the cancellation guarantee and bib holder change:

Once the registration is completed, the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances except for those who have purchased this guarantee, for which the organization offers a cancellation insurance or guarantee, or a bib transfer guarantee, at a cost of 3 euros per registration, under the following terms:

  • For cancellation or change requests before February 1: 100% refund of the registration fee or changes at no extra cost.
  • For cancellation or change requests between February 1 and 23: 50% refund of the registration fee or changes at no extra cost.
  • For requests made after February 23, registrations will be considered final, and no refunds or deferrals will be possible.

The cancellation guarantee can only be purchased at the time of registration.

The amount of the cancellation guarantee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

However, bib holder changes will be accepted without this guarantee until February 23 at a cost of €3, and at the Runner’s Expo for €5. Cancellation and holder change requests (except those made at the Runner’s Expo) must be made via email inscripciones@deporticket.com within the indicated deadlines.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

  • Registration is personal and non-transferable and implies full acceptance of this regulation.
  • Once the registration is completed, participation cannot be transferred to another person, except through the methods stated in this regulation.
  • T-shirts will be delivered according to the size requested at the time of registration. The Organization does not guarantee being able to deliver the requested size to all participants, since T-shirt production begins long before registration closes.
  • The registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances, including injury or work-related reasons, except for those who purchased the cancellation guarantee and subject to its conditions.
  • Registrations lacking correct identification data (ID or identity document, name, surname, date of birth, sex, and event) will not be considered valid.

Art. 6.- CATEGORIES

The following categories are established for both men and women:

  • Overall: includes all runners of each sex.
  • Cadet: born in 2011 and 2012.
  • Youth: born in 2009 and 2010.
  • Junior: born in 2007 and 2008.
  • Masters A: from 35 years old on race day.
  • Masters B: from 45 years old on race day.

Art. 7.- BIB-CHIP AND OFFICIAL T-SHIRT PICK-UP

Bib-chip and official T-shirt pick-up will take place exclusively at the Runner’s Expo on March 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and March 20 and 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Runner’s Expo (Distrito Telefónica. Avenida Ronda de la Comunicación s/n. Services Building, floor 1. Madrid)

To pick up the bib-chip, runners must present the receipt or a copy of the registration (paper or digital), or their ID, passport, or another official identity document.

If the runner is unable to pick up the bib in person, they must provide an authorization to the person collecting it, along with a copy of the runner’s ID when picking up the bib.

The T-shirt will be delivered upon presentation of the bib-chip.

Important:

  • Runners may not request a different size than the one selected at registration.
  • The organization does not guarantee the requested size for all runners, as production takes place long before registration closes.
  • No bibs or T-shirts will be delivered on race day.
  • Bibs include a disposable chip, so they must not be folded, altered, or tampered with in any way, including modifying its advertising.
  • Race time will only be recorded if the bib-chip is properly placed on the front of the torso.

Art. 8.- TROPHIES

The top three male/female runners in the overall category will receive a trophy, which will be awarded during the event's official ceremony.

The top three runners in the remaining categories will also receive a trophy, which will be awarded at the A.D. Marathon club offices (calle Villaamil nº 65, Madrid, phone: 914026962) between March 31 and April 8. If shipment is requested, the awardee must cover all expenses. Failure to collect the trophy within the stated dates will be understood as a renunciation of said trophy and any other prize associated with the classification.

Art. 9.- RACE CONTROL AND OFFICIALS

Race control will be carried out by officials appointed by the Madrid and/or Spanish Athletics Federation.

Timekeeping will be done using an electronic system and chip provided by the Organization, and no other chip will be valid. There will be timing checkpoints at the start and finish. The Organization reserves the right to place additional checkpoints along the course.

The Referee Judge will be appointed by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation to resolve any technical incident, interpreting the rules of the race. In matters not covered by these regulations, the rules of World Athletics shall apply.

Art. 10.- PUBLICATION OF THE RESULTS AND CLAIMS

The results will be published on the official event website, carrerafundacionprofuturo.com, and will be displayed next to the awards area. These are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the judges appointed by the Madrid Athletics Federation.

Claims affecting placement in the results must be submitted in writing to the Referee Judge within a maximum of 30 minutes from the publication of the results.

Other claims must be sent in writing to the Organization’s email admarathon@admarathon.es , to the attention of the Referee Judge, before the Wednesday following the race.

The Organization will communicate the Referee Judge’s decisions within a maximum of 10 days, after which the results will be considered final. Therefore, all trophies and prizes will be provisional until that moment.

Art. 11.- DISQUALIFICATIONS

Reasons for disqualification:

  • Providing false information in the registration
  • Not completing the full course.
  • Not passing through the timing checkpoints located on the course.
  • Not wearing the bib number clearly visible on the chest or altering or hiding its advertising.
  • Running with the bib number and/or chip assigned to another runner.
  • Not following the instructions of the judges and/or Organization staff.
  • Having given the bib number to be photocopied and used by another runner.
  • Refusing to undergo a doping control.
  • Displaying unsportsmanlike behavior.

Additionally, the medical team of the race and the referee judges are authorized to remove from the race any athlete showing poor physical condition.

Art. 12. SERVICES OFFERED TO RUNNERS

AID STATION

There will be an aid station at the finish line.

BAGGAGE DROP

Runners may use a free baggage drop service, located at Plaza del Descubrimiento, where they may leave their belongings in a bag. The Organization is not responsible for items deposited. The service will be available from 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 22.

Organization staff may request the opening of the bag or backpack to check its contents. Refusal will result in denial of the bag’s custody.

TOILETS

There will be portable toilets in the start and finish area.

PHOTO PACKAGE

The organization will offer all participants the option to purchase a professional photo package of their participation in the race.

INSURANCE

All registered runners are covered by civil liability and accident insurance, in accordance with current legislation.

The Organization declines all responsibility for physical or moral damages that an athlete may cause to themselves or to third parties during the race.

VIDEOS

All participants will be able to download their finish line video for free, available on the official website in the days following the race.

OFFICIAL CERTIFICATE

The official certificate, which shows the overall position, category position, official time and average pace, will also be available for free download on the official website from the Monday following the race.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

The Organization has the necessary medical services to care for runners during the race.

The Organization recommends that all participants undergo a medical check-up prior to the race, with each participant accepting the risks inherent to the sport.

Any athlete with health issues is required to notify the Organization in advance and in writing, mark their bib number with a red cross, and include their name, address, phone number and medical condition.

A physiotherapy and podiatry service may be available, exclusively for runners who have suffered some type of injury. The physiotherapy service may not be used under any circumstance as a relaxation or recovery massage.

SWEEP VEHICLE

The Organization will provide a sweep vehicle for runners who do not wish to continue the race or who are forced to withdraw.

Art. 13.- WHEELED DEVICES

The use of any wheeled device during the race is not permitted, except wheelchairs (not handbike) for disabled athletes registered in the wheelchair category, approved by the RFEA and officially accepted by the Organization. Running with baby strollers, dogs or any type of pet is also prohibited, since in case of an accident, the insurance does not cover the incident and any medical and/or legal expenses, claims or compensation will be charged to the person who caused the incident.

Art. 14.- AUTHORIZED VEHICLES

The course is closed to all vehicles. The only vehicles allowed to follow the race will be those accredited by the Organization.

It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motor or wheeled vehicle (skates, bicycles, etc.).

Art. 15.- RESPONSIBILITY

Participation in the event is under the responsibility and at the own risk of the participants. By registering, the participant declares to be physically fit to complete the race course.

The Organization declines all responsibility for the effects, consequences or liabilities arising from damages, both material and personal, that participants may cause, due to the race, to themselves, other people or even in the case that third parties cause damages to the participant, volunteer or organization staff.

Art. 16.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

All participants, by completing their registration, accept these rules and the regulations of the RFEA, FMA, WA and AIMS. Furthermore, they consent to the Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, either by itself or through third parties contracted for this purpose, processing their personal data digitally and for exclusively sporting, promotional or commercial purposes, as well as their image within the race through photos, videos, etc.

For the purposes set forth in Article 5 of Organic Law 15/1999, of December 13, on the protection of personal data, you are informed that the personal data and official photographs of the Carrera 5k ProFuturo will be incorporated into a file owned by the Agrupación Deportiva Marathon (G78026150), organizer of the event, with the purpose of using them exclusively for the purposes requested.

The participant may exercise their right of access to these files in order to partially or totally amend or cancel their content. To exercise this right, they must request it by email at admarathon@admarathon.es, attaching a photocopy of their ID.

In case of doubt regarding any circumstance that may arise, the Organization’s criteria shall prevail.

Furthermore, the participant of the Carrera ProFuturo accepts the following with their registration:

I, as a participant in the ProFuturo Race, am informed that during my participation in the ProFuturo Race images may be taken for dissemination purposes. The use of the images will be solely for social, promotional, advertising and publicity purposes related to the ProFuturo Race and its future editions, as well as to promote the activities of FUNDACIÓN PROFUTURO. The images may be used in the media, social networks, brochures, posters, websites and any other medium or format related to the aforementioned purposes. I declare that I have read and understood this notice and that I may exercise my rights by sending a communication addressed to Fundación ProFuturo, to the following email address: protecciondedatos@fundacionprofuturo.org
