Claudia Moreno and Sergio Salinero win the 8th edition of the ProFuturo Race
The 5km ProFuturo Race was held today in parallel with the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon. This charity race was created in 2016 with a clear goal: running for education. Since then, it has taken to the streets of Madrid to celebrate a day full of sport and commitment aimed at contributing to the ProFuturo educational program, with the goal of continuing to bring the transforming power of education, innovation, and technology to children in every corner of the planet.
The win went to Claudia Moreno (20:15) in the women’s category and to Sergio Salinero (17:20) in the men’s category. The ProFuturo Race, one of the most well‑known charity and mass‑participation events on the calendar, raised €19,100, which will be donated to the digital education program through which Fundación Telefónica and Fundación “la Caixa” help bridge the educational gap in remote and at‑risk communities in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. Paralympic athlete Lorenzo Albaladejo, considered the best sprinter with cerebral palsy in Spain’s history, also completed the race.
Pedro Delgado, participant in the race, was responsible for presenting the cheque for €19,100 to Magdalena Brier, general director of ProFuturo.
